The Octopus Project interviewed on Texas Music Matters, Indie Interviews

The Octopus Project were featured today on a KUT 90.5 FM radio segment exploring the phenomenon of MySpace in the music industry. "Texas Music Matters" correspondent Asra Syed interviewed Octopus Project member Yvonne Lambert on the band's use of MySpace and how it helped them get an opportunity to perform at one of the nation's biggest music festivals, Coachella. Syed also interviews MySpace president Tom Anderson and Paul Tillett, president of Goldenvoice, the company that puts on the Coachella Festival every year.

The Octopus Project "Music Is Happiness" video now available!

The Octopus Project, just named one of the five standout bands at SXSW 2006 by Rolling Stone senior editor David Fricke (April 7, 2006 issue), has released the first of three videos from the album One Ten Hundred Thousand Million.

The "Music Is Happiness" video was created by local director Nick Smith, who has also worked on videos for The Flaming Lips and The Deathray Davies. Smith shot the band in HD on a sound stage in San Antonio last January and then spent a little over a year editing and animating the footage with the help of photographer/animator Wiley Wiggins.

Two additional Octopus Project videos for the songs "Bruise" and "Exit Councelor" are also soon to be released, and all three will appear on an enhanced EP on Peek-A-Boo Records later this year.
