Peel joins Peek-A-Boo Records roster

Peek-A-Boo Records is excited to welcome new artist Peel to the family. A co-ed five-piece from Austin, TX, Peel has been around for barely a year, yet their clever, catchy songs reveal an insightful maturity that usually takes bands years to develop.

Peel's music is a pursuit of the perfect 3-minute pop song coupled with an irresistable compulsion to ruin it with unhinged noise. The Austinist described the band as mixing "experimental rock urges with pop song hooks." Others say early Brian Eno covering The Zombies, with a few harmonizing Thin Lizzy guitar riffs thrown in for good measure. The band admits a solid admiration for the '60s and '70s, but comparisons are cheap, and Peel's sound is also strikingly original.

Peel is currently in the studio recording their first album for Peek-A-Boo Records, due out later in 2006. Preview the band's demos on their MySpace page or download MP3s from the band's official website.
