Roar ! Lion — including Phillip Niemeyer from Teen Titans and The Kiss Offs and Ryan Weston from the Vidi Vitties — sounds sort of like The Raincoats attempting Sonic Youth with the distinctive sound of guitars that cost less than $200.

The Beach Birds were Nikki and Otto of The Prima Donnas spending some time in a Bizarro universe with a 4-track. Their music defies description — suffice to say it's brilliant, hilarious, and strangely touching. Never did a desperate cry for help sound so good.
